Just about back on ship....

whew
what a lot of work shifting is…!
I have my main PC here at the new house now,i had to get a new modem…left the other one at the old house with another PC
only 1 phone line here…so thats not very good (using dial up networking), but i do get a better connection speed

i am trying to see if we can get broadband…finding info is like getting blood out of a stone…i have signed up for info all over the show, but i get nothin back…

thanks to everyone who has helped each out on the forum while we have been busy shifting house

How far did you move? Did you sell the farm? I saw where you sold the cows but the farm too? Good to have you back.

10 minutes by car
just the cows
a share milker has moved his cows onto the farm…the income is now split 50/50…but more cows will be milked, i.e the farm will be pushed to its limit more (i was milking less cows, so i could balance my time more)

so this begs the question as to what you’re going to do with all your extra time? I suspect that running the farm took a fair bit of your time… It must be a real change in lifestyle!

Not sure about coverage but you could try Woosh broadband. It works using a wireless “modem” based on cellphone technology - not wifi. Check www.woosh.co.nz for coverage charts. I have a unit here on trial and its working very well. Looks to be 128k up and 256k down.

Cheers - Colin.

farm, time:
i am still invovled in the farm, and was there this morning helping out with things, but yes, less time needed for the farm, more time for wd and the kids, the wife, the school, dad, etc etc

i just finally got through to telecom wireless, and on the 15th june they are going to see if they can get coverage here
the 2 way satellite launch date has been put back a month for the 2nd time, so thats a no show

If you miss the farm too much then Nintendo may have just what you need  Harvest Moon" A Wonderful Life http://www.natsume.com/feature2_frameset.html According to Wired “The game’s main character – a young man who takes over his father’s abandoned farm – quickly figures out how to feed himself, grow his business and start a family. Next, he begins building lasting and fulfilling relationships with work, wife and surroundings.”

You can even milk a virtual cow…

the good thing about this new place is we are surrounded by farmland, no immediate neighbours…
and the local farmers are expecting me to relief milk their cows for them…I will need to , to help pay for the dang house mortgage!

So it’s time now to change your welcome : My normal day time job is Dairy Farming. I milk 145 cows on a 100 ha farm here and I have a very supportive wife

Ok change the first strophe make it the last and begin with I have a very supportive wife!
