Inspeed anemometer question

Hi,

I am looking to replace my ageing anemometer with an Inspeed anemometer.

Does anybody know what the difference is between the classic version and the 8-pulse version?

Assuming they are both compatible with WD, which would be the best?

Also, is there any option to include a wind vane in WD as well?

Thanks,
Neil

what is your existing weather station type?
i would look at using a weatherflow windspeed sensor

Hi Brian - my current weather station is the WMR968, it’s been going now for around 15 years. I have replaced the rain sensor with a 1-wire setup, but the temperature and wind are the original parts. Ideally I would like to get a Davis VP2, but I wouldn’t get much change out of $2k for a complete setup here in Australia. I currently saving for one, but I am thinking of potential solutions just to keep me going for another year or 2.

I was looking at the Weatherflow station, however the Australia version is currently not available. Do they have a separate wind sensor that can be used with WD?

Thanks,
Neil

yes you can use the weatherflow windspeed (ultrasonic) with WD in conjunction with another station
( just need to add code to use with a wmr968)
