That’s one thing I’m not sure about - the hierarchy of .htaccess. Do you need to specifically allow the image to be served?

Up now
Normally, you are hotlink protecting your images. The rules are different in that you provide a list of sites that are allowed to hotlink (like here for example).
For the replacement image to take effect, the replacement image has to be where hotlinking is a allowed.
So… normally for me…
Root
POSTED (hotlink protected)
images (not hotlink protected) very few basic images
Images (hotlink protected)
Each sub-directory has its own .htaccess file with its own permission levels. The images (no capital I) has only a few basic images that I use. Its not protected. The bulk of my images are in Images (with Capital I) and in POSTED. That has hotlink protection that then points to the block image in the images directory (No capital I) or one of my other sites.
You can have mutliple .htaccess files. They control everything from that point down the tree. But you can override one further down, with another .htaccess file.
there does not seem to be any direct way of getting to the sun/moon info page now though via the links on the home page?
i see they have changed the meta tags now, removing references to carterlake
it would be nice if they added a thanks to caterlake and a link to carterlake at least
http://astronomyskychart.blogspot.com/
Is now giving me:
This page has a new domain! You will be redirected to the new domain in 5 seconds, if for some reason you are not redirected click here
However there is nothing to click and there is no redirection happening…
Of course this would be why…
“a herf” LMAO this is sad…

This is so tempting
ah, i missed that skychart link
he must be young and enthusiastic
See for a more generic image:
Tom,
Kenny participates in the Gibson Ridge Forum and I’m sure he first became aware of your site there. - Jim
Jim,
I was just about to say that he talks on the grlevel3 forums and probably got all of the ideas from there (seing Tom’s site).

WOW :x
his blogspot sites are back up and are fixed :x
Seems even non-wx people aren’t too happy with the tomfoolery:
Hmmm tomfoolery?
You did a nice post on the e-rice forum.
Ken
And he seemed to be a little agitated about it all on e-rice.net. Good!
what, if anything can be done about the blatant theft of copyrighted material?
of course, we could track down his favorite forums and post a note or two about copyright theft, without mentioning names, of course.
Ken
I would be against such actions. Kenny is no longer linking to my images and has significantly changed the (copy of a copy of a copy) code. He even fixed the horrible IE problems.
He just… well… needs to learn how to play in the sandbox.
yeah, I suppose… Reminds me when I was young and played in a sandbox, we were taught to be careful about the ‘clumps of sand’ … Seems they exist in digital sandboxes also
Ken
Coming back with the crap excuse that it was still under construction simply just does not cut it.
He posted that the site was up there and open, without ensuring that the template he chose to use wasn’t appropriately updated to reflect his OWN site, rather than someone elses, i.e. meta tags, images, page links, and contact addresses.
And tell me people, how many of you would have gone out made a bit of a splurge to publicise your site as this guy has done without checking key things like I mentioned above ???
Exactly, he had another site using the code that had been up for months.
NOT true…it was www.alwx.blogspot.com, that site has only been up for about a week now!
The code that was used on www.alabamaweather.org was used on alwx.blogspot for ONLY a few days before the 1st of Dec. Thats when the site was switched to alabamaweather.org
