I have my linux connected to the Internet now!!

Hi
I finally got my linux HD to connect to my new broadand wireless internet connection, via the router…
I just needed to tick use DHCP, and tick something else (i forget now), then the connection wizard closed…( i had been there before but thought it had not worked), started up a web browser, pointed it to http://www.weather-display.com/, and vola, internet on my linux!!!

so, then i just ran a gftp session, and uploaded the latest zip linux version
which should fix the clientraw compatibility issue with WDL

download from
http://www.weather-display.com/downloadfiles/WeatherDlinux.zip

so now I can update the linux version…
and i will port over the latest windows davis vp download data at start up routine too

   :drinking:

I hope you got the firewall running in linux too! 8)

does linux have one, i.e how do i activate that?

of course you can always make your own :P, but you are using Mandrake, correct? I think Mandrake automatically starts a gui one called guarddog (allows you to block certain ports, programs, etc…)
