I re-read your msg… SORRRY
No i never did try out the tick for console rain
Yes I do keep batteries in the VP btw. I change them 2x a year regardless
In this part of the US we have been plagued with TONS of rain (16" so far this year which is a lot since the ave is approx 43")
Anyways, WD still is showing the rain rates at some high amount (last time I noticed it was 36"/ hour and earlier today 18"/hour)
The daily monthly yearly totals are ok so no impact - just mentioning
No i have not set WD to use the VP value yet
we finally have rain here
and yes there is a problem with the rain rate from the WLL data
(windows version too)
I will investigate
Thanks…
Glad to hear you experienced it - so I wasn’t going crazy
Happy to hear you got some rain !!!
You can have some of ours - 16" in 2 months with another 1-2" by end of week
Normal is approx 43" for the year
42mm for the year to date only here 8O
our annual year total is like 1200mm
re rain rate
try this, the next time you get rain:
action
reset selected daily extremes
then click on reset rain rate (and reset max rain rate)
then see how it works
that seems to help here in testing
(and If it does then I think I know what might be happening)
Brian
Before I left the house 5am today I saw that WD had a rain rate of 7.0"/hour. While that isn’t as extreme as it has been, it did seem high to me. Granted it was in the middle of the night while sleeping
I did go ahead and reset the max rain rate regardless. So far it is where it should be
MORE rain coming this am. Luckily for us after today we should not see any rain for a few days
I see there is another update. I will grab that when home
back to drought conditions here
maybe a bit more rain next week
Sorry to hear…
Too bad can’t send some of ours your way
Now just shy of 18" and its only March 5th !!!
Good news after today we lose the rain I think through Monday
Btw
I got home and it showed (while I was at work) a rain rate of 36"/hour
I did the reset you asked (again). However, the rain is tapering off here and suspect it won’t rain for many days (thank god)
In the latest update u can now select to
Use the console rain rate
Thanks
But how will this work when the console is no longer connected since I moved to WLL
it uses the totals that the WLL make available
the latest update is working OK re rain rate…for me… …its raining here
Just grabbed the update
Been quite rain wise all weekend, but more (not alot) coming
Do I have to configure anything for rain rate? Or does the new update just handle it
Thanks again
my testing was with not using the use console rain rate option
its not clear to me what you are refering to exactly
not sure now
no major rain here this week - some but looks light
I’m on the latest build. Will keep an eye out for it.
ps, you can now generate the api key on your weatherlink account
which is good news
(you already have yours DeputyDawg)
Thanks Brian
So far everything has been going great !!!
No more of those weird graph issues. We haven’t had much heavy rain, but rain rate seems ok
I REALLy appreciate all your efforts !!!
Btw who else out there is on WLL
a couple of other users
I do recommend the Davis weather link live
I recommend it too. Anyone can ping me for details
Btw sorry to report my rain issue is back (haven’t had much rain in several days)
Earlier today it was reporting rate of 18.00"/hour - which is very unlikely
