I currently have a hub on my 1-wire system but I get the impression from Brian that the doesn’t recommend them with WD. My experience with 1-wire and the hub is not good, everything had to be on one channel, wd couldn’t find things on other channels (main or aux). I ended up splitting a cat 5 cable to put the rain guage in to the network.
Even now the sensor is so erratic that it is hardly worth having on. I have to restart WD every hour to make sure the correct reading is being recorded otherwise the reading just flat lines.
I’m going to try just a serial adaptor (the hack to the cable will allow me to inject power) and scrap the hub altogether.
In my limited experience of WD and the hub, don’t bother, its too much hassle.
