I’ve been running on an Oregon Scientific station for about six years, and have a new Vantage VUE I’m wanting to switch to. I have installed the WeatherLink USB logging dongle, COM3 was assigned by the computer, (I didn’t switch to USB in the WeatherLink software). I switched the station type and COM port in Weather Display, but I can’t get any data readings. The Data Quality icon is green and Data Received icon flashes red, but the number never increases. I’m obviously missing something, I just don’t know what.
Do I have to run WeatherLink and leave it running? Weather Display is running on Windows Server 2008. I finally switched back to my old station since I couldn’t get data from the VUE.
humm
try restarting WD
and then check what shows under view, ws2010/WS2500 data setup
I assume weather link is set to serial mode?
i.e the com port shows in device manager OK for the davis data logger?
also make sure to set the default baud rate, 19200, in the weather station type setup
I’ve restarted WD multiple times. No data. Yet, when I fire up Davis’ Weather Link software, the data reads just fine.
Weather Link is set to serial mode (COM3). I’ve specified COM 3 in WD, specificed Davis VANTAGE PRO/Olus/6161/50/VP2/Vue with Davis rain guage is a 0.1 inch, and VP Baud Rate Default of 19200. Davis VP Settings has Rev B data logger selected.
I’m stumped and blocked from cutting over to the new equipment.
NorCal Dan: That was a typo; I do have the rain guage set for 0.01.
windy: Device Manager shows Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge (COM3)
WS2010/WS2500 data shows: Loaded all time records loading the data file month102011.inf Connect com port Com port connected OK Time period too short All data downloaded or did not sync correct! Formatting downloaded data now into actual data Weather station type 31 starting get data timer now
Resetting the offset to 0 seems to have done the trick.
Now my problem is I can’t get the VUE barometer reading which is accurate to show up correctly in WD. COnsole shows 29.80 and WD shows 30.08. I’ve tried changing the offset, but it’s having no effect.
Figured it out the barometer offset issue. Had to clear Use QFE barometer (use the altitude setting) check box on the Units & Other Settings, Baromter Setup tab.
I’m up and running on the new weather station. Yipee! Thanks for all the help!
