How to recreate clientrawdaily.txt?

FreshWDL and WXGraphs both use clientrawextra.txt for 7-day rain graphs and clientrawdaily.txt for 31-day graphs. I recently had to correct the daily rain totals for two consecutive days (snow melt problem), and after restarting WD the changes have appeared in clientrawextra but not in clientrawdaily.

I have read a lot about converting log files to data files and recreating the last 31 days’ graphs, but I presume that this refers to WD’s own graphs. And these changes are not in any log file that I know of.

I know that the problem will just disappear in a month’s time, but in the meantime is there any simple way of correcting clientrawdaily.txt?

I’m pretty sure that file is recreated on a restart of WD. Worth a try.

No, I tried that :frowning:

I remember discussing clientrawextra corruption with you a while back, and that is recreated on a restart. . . but not clientrawdaily, it would seem :?

you would need to make sure the rain is corrected in the WD logfile
then convert that logfile to datafile and then make sure to also recreate the last 31 days data file
then wait for the clientrawdaily to be updated

Which log file shows daily rain totals?

I changed the total rain recorded on 9 February from 6.1 to 8.7 mm, and the total rain recorded on 10 February from 4.8 to 2.2 mm. The monthly total did not change.

How can I put those two simple corrections into a log file?

as i have stated, you would need to make sure the rain in the WD logfile is correct
and then convert that to data file and last 31 days data
i.e its the total at the end of the day
also make sure each total for the last 7 days is correct
under view, rain last 7 days

So the answer to my question is no, there is no easy way of correcting clientrawdaily.txt

It was snow melt. I was able to melt all the snow in the manual gauge at midnight, but there was still snow in the station gauge. After that melted next day, I corrected the daily station readings in proportion to the manual gauge readings.

also make sure each total for the last 7 days is correct under view, rain last 7 days

I did, that’s why clientrawextra.txt and the 7-day graphs are correct.
