Brian,
If it’s not a trade secret can you share how WD interfaces with the labjack? Is the labjack’s own software running and putting out a file for WD, or does WD access it directly via USB, or none of the above?
Seems to be a really attractive device, pity it’s not directly ethernet instead of USB.
hi
its a direct interface (via the usb (the labjack has drivers you need to install), using code i was able to directly put into wd, available from them
Thanks Brian. I emailed labjack with a different question, they seem to be really nice guys
You mentioned about Labjack not being able to interface with a network. I have been looking for a device that will allow me to interface the USB over the network. I did find some devices that would do it. One of them is made by a company named Digi which makes this device USB-Over-IP | AnywhereUSB Plus | Connect USB Peripheral Devices Anywhere on a Local Area Network | Digi International but they are kind of expensive. The other one I found is called Keyspan http://www.keyspan.com/products/usb/server/ which is a bit cheaper, but the cheapest I could find it was $103.
Thanks. I found keyspan but not the other one, I’ll take a look. The Labjack folks think it will work with keyspan, but haven’t actually tried it.
