Hobby Boards

Hi

I have a ws2300 lacrose weather station. And would like to fit a one wired solar sensor to my weather computer. My question is simple, and not too silly I hope, Do hobby boards deliver to the UK, and is there a chance of tax being charged?

Kind Regards

Mark

Hi Mark

Welcome to the Forum.

Im sure that HB delivers to UK.

I live in Denmark, have a Lacross WS-2305 station and 1-wire sensors from HB too.

My sensors were delivered to my work adress here in Denmark without any problems. But you can be charged in custom if they find the packet from HB.

The 3 times HB has sent sensors to my adress - the custom havent noticed

Best regards,

Henrik

Ps. I once had a sensor that stopped working (solar-sensor) - I emailed HB and they sent me a new one for free - GOOD SERVICE!

I’ve had a lightning detector and an AAG anemometer and neither were charged import duty or VAT at Customs. They arrived within 5-7 working days - which, for up here, is quick even for UK postage.

Hi

Thanks for the quick and helpful response. My wife bought me my weather station as a Christmas 2007 present, she also ordered the upgrade wind cups (TX20), this was a recommended upgrade by the shop, I am still waiting for them to arrive, when they do and i have them setup, I will start thinking about setting up a solar sensor.
I hope the forum members are patient as i feel this may be a painful process, as I have never dealt with one wire networks before, I am quite experienced with home networks, but this will be new ground.
Anyway, thanks again for your help

Kind Regards

Mark

Hi Mark

Wow - you are a lucky man with such a wife

May i suggest you update your profile info with your equipment.

Best regards,

Henrik

1-wire isn’t that bad, here’s a good FAQ that Bob (Jaxweather) did for setting up the lightning detector, the solar won’t be too much different.

Oh, and yes we’re quite patient on here and used to painful processes!!

Another thumbs up for Hobby Boards and 1-wire…never had to pay vat etc yet…touch wood…
Eric gives an excellent service

There are plenty of 1-wire users on this forum so any problems and one of us will be able to help.
We all had to start somewhere and have all had the growing pains of new venture…

Yes i can also highly recommened hobby boards. I ordered my sensors (with alot of very useful help from Eric) and they arrived here in the U.K about 5 days later. The biggest delay was Parcel force as i had to pay a release fee (about

Eric and Hobby-Boards are excellent

I’ve only ever used 1-wire devices for my weather gear, and yes it does take a bit of tinkering on occasion. But there is plenty of help here if you get stuck.

Cheers
Colin.
