Hill view weather site

Hi, this is all new to me and believe I’m trying.

Has the Hillview Weather station in Harrow/Pinner area crashed or closed down.

Please help, as I have used this site for 4 years and had no problems

Hi Terry.

I don’t know that site but it’s possible that it’s just crashed. The domain is registered until 2025 so whoever owns the site expected it to run until at least then.

If that was from the Wayback Machine then it’s not updated very regularly.

I don’t know of a station in that area and a search hasn’t turned anything up nearby either.

From my look at it I have a feeling the website might have be hosted on a residential internet connection. At this time of the year people are likely to be away on holiday so it’s quite possible that the PC running the website has crashed leaving the site unavailable. I’ve found other references to data from a station in that area being offline. If the weather station was connected to the same PC running the web site then both could easily disappear at the same time.

I guess I’m saying to wait another week or so to see if it comes back on just in case the owner is away at the moment.
