since version 10.18u, v, and x my CPU use is very high.
if I reinstall version t it is normall again.
Is this a bug or a new future in wd that is taking almost all of my processor (50%-70%)
even in wd itself it is hard to make changes

I don’t feel like I’m out in left field with another experiencing the same thing.
I’m using a wmr 928n.
The programm error log is empty.
If it was running fine on the older version I do not think it is related with a firewall.
switched on or off makes no difference.

but do you both have direct web cam capture in use?
as a test:
exit wd
install wd to a new directory
then create a file there called 2wd.txt
then start wd up there
then it will start up like it was the very first time, no settings
setup it up for basic settings, to get weather data from the wmr968
as a test
so i will know if its anything to do with a wrm918/68 type station or not

Yes, I am using the webcam.
I will try to disable this but it will take some time.
At the moment the only way to exit the programm, is to end the process and this i want to avoid.

I have version y installed in a new directory and it seems to be working fine.
Just the wmr installed in the setup and did nothing with the rest.
It ran for 15 minutes or so while the original install gave me problems within 5 min.
In the y version, (original intsall) when you go to the top and point the mouse on setup or an other it will highlight but if you click it is not acitvated.
The problems will start after a coouple of minutes.
Tried it with 2wd.txt and with 3wd.txt

Ehm, I can select view for example but when i pick something there it is working fine but i can not close the view window any longer.

under normal operation, you cant close the view panel, until you have closed what you are currently viewing

try hooking up the web cam with the brand new setup, as a test
but,also, try the latest 10.18y beta version, which should be ready soon, as it has debug code in it (euraka log), and it might show why its spitting the dummy

you can not close the control panel until you have closed the setup screen you launched from the control panel

so, how is the beta 10.18y going?
for example;
when i go to set up and then control panel it opens the control panel.
If i do nothing else and just want to click oke it is not closijng the panel.
If i go to seup and then control panel it is opening the control panel.
If i click on ftp orso it willopen this sub panel but it can not be closed anymore.
The betas version has the same problem.
where can i find this new log so i can check ik.

i do not have that issue here
and no other reports of that issue
check the file, programerrorlog.txt,where wd is installed
euraka log:
if a crash/exception occurs, then a window box will appear notifyring you of that, then you clic on more details…
I think this has to do with the high cpu use that it will not respond anymore.
I have cleared the error log (there where only old thing in there) and restarted wd
Cannot create file …\animatedwebcam.gif ( this came only once and i have restarted severall times)
The location is know but i can not change anything in there as it will not respond.
The beta version just crashed and i got an error message…
