I can’t seem to find any settings for the “haze” condition (icon #7). I searched the forum but could only find very old threads about the haze settings being on the same screen as fog setting (that seems logical, doesn’t it?). But there’s only the fog setting in my screen. No haze, no mist.
Anyway, at the moment I have the “haze” condition, no fog because temp, hum and solar demands are not met. I also use METAR (for nighttime) but it says “Partly cloudy”.
Need some help here… Thanks in advance!
Some conditions are derived and not measured…fog and haze are prime examples. While we know what conditions need to be present for fog to develop, just because those conditions exist doesn’t guarantee that fog will form. I know some of the conditions that must be met before fog will be declared in WD, but I’m at a loss as to what would define haze. I think you would need a sensor that measures visibility or clarity over a specified distance. I know the airports use a sensor that shines a light between 2 sensors and they measure the amount of light to determine visibility.
I suspect that the haze icon was included because METAR’s could report haze conditions.
