I have a GW1101 that is reporting correctly to EcoWitt, but Weather Display has got stuck, its reporting the same sensor readings from 24 hours ago. I’ve been through the settings and they are all (at least appear) correct. Ecowitt sensors say 1.3 degrees outside and WD reports 5.6 degrees. I’ve reset the pc, checked everything sensors wise, and am at a complete loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated
The upload to Ecowitt is a point-to-point communication, which proves that the GW1100 is measuring the weather-data correctly.
I assume you restarted the WD-PC already?
The problem could also be on the GW1100 side or a local-network change.
The data to WD is “broadcasted” by the GW1100 on the (sub)-LAN.
There is no 1-to-1 connection between the WD-PC and the GW1100.
Maybe WD does not get the information although it is listening.
Checks:
-
The GW1100 hangs in its “network broadcast” on the LAN
Remove the GW1100 from the power-outlet . Wait 30 seconds Insert it back. -
The IP address changed?
-
The subnet has changed? Maybe a new access-point?
IMHO, the best place to discuss this problem is on the Ecowitt part of the wx-forum.
All kind of problems are already discussed there. If the problem is in the GW1100 it does not matter if it is WD, or Weewx or MB.
Succes, Wim
Right I unplugged the power, and the device has stayed at 192.168.1.54 the PC running WD is located at 192.168.1.38, all the routing to the main gateway is clear and showing no issues with EdgeOS (Ubiquiti Router software) the AP it is attached to hasn’t changed either, nor the subnet.
So we’ve ruled out the network broadcast. So I restarted WD and its still picking up the old readings yet the data received light is flashing a lot saying its getting data I’ve checked that everywhere in WD that the IP is set to the IP of the GW1100 . So after scratching my head repeatedly, I though to myself their can’t have been a software update since saturday can there… Boom problem solved
Software update on which item
Weather Display as soon as I updated it started working again
