FWI values off?

Hi all,

Anyone having problems with the Fire Weather Index?
Mine doesn’t match the closest “official” FWI readings at all. And my site is drier and windier than the official site:

my site: http://apsn.awcable.com/weather/fwi.htm

Todays values
DAY HR FFMC DMC DC ISI BUI FWI
6/26 13 86.0 2 402 3.5 4 2.1

Official site: Fairbanks Airport
DAY HR FFMC DMC DC ISI BUI FWI
6/26 14 90.4 104.8 320.3 10.6 115.3 34.8

Is this a computational problem with WD or the usual “I don’t understand what the heck I’m doing” problem?

Hot, dry, smokey, and lightning-caused fires everywhere. Just the usual Interior Alaska summer.

the fwi is made up from all the other parts
so, you need to compare apples with apples
i.e you need to set your starting values the same as the offical one
you can do that in the fwi page
i.e your DMC is way lower
try setting that the same…and the ones too
then see how it does

Hi
just a note, that I have fixes an important bug with the FWI calculations, latest version of WD (10.37M Build 08)

Thanks for the info, Brian. It’s time I updated to the latest version, I guess.

Windy,

Just updated to the 10.37 build 8 to get the latest Fire Weather Index upgrade.
There is no picture on the fwipointer.gif. The other fwi uploads are fine (fwi.htm and fwigraph.gif)
