Whenever I try and upload from WD to my homepage, which I am having ONE HECK OF A TIME, my ftpupd icon shows up then seems to stop. If I hit Ctrl-Alt-Delete, it says that ftpupd is not responding. Any ideas anyone?

in WD click on view, ftp log, then click on view, full log

its either you do not have the ftp details set correctly in the connections setup, or a firewall is blocking ftpupd.exe

ftp.geocities.com I can establish a connection to here with WS_FTP, so it looks like you have a firewall running that is blocking the access of WD’s ftupd.exe program
you will need to check and configure your firwall to let the program ftpupd.exe through
it might even be XP’s firewall you have in use that you will need to configure (see in windows control panel)
once you get the firewall to let it through (which is not a fault of problem of weather display), then post here the results from that same ftp log full data
Tell me more, you have my attention. Now, I am running an oler Windows, 98 in fact, also, I have Norton Antivirus 2005 running, but, auto-enabled, is turned off. How do I get around the firewall so that this will upload?

norton antivirus is your problem
it takes over your PC and its very hard to get it to change its mind,and even harder to turn it off
alot of people use Zone alarm (there is even a free version)
that is half your problems, using that program
just ask Joseph Toubes, a member of this forum about all the problems he has /had with norton
