Firmware 3.80 vs. 3.88

Is there any way to copy the firmware from the VP 2 wireless console to my computer? Unfortunately, I lost version 3.80 and I’m a little afraid to put version 3.88 in there. I know that I once uploaded version 3.15 and the barometer didn’t work for me.

only Davis would be able to do that for you , but I doubt that would be even possible…it would need a firmware update to even make that possible

That’s not very good news.
Until recently, there was a page called Davisnet.com, but entering this url immediately redirects it to Davisinstruments.com.
There were several versions of the software to download, but only the latest version of the software is offered on davisinstruments.
Maybe someone will find who has version 3.80 at home on disk.

is this any good

That’s great thank you very much
Tomorrow I will try to load version 3.88 and see what the console says
If that doesn’t work I’ll return the original version.

So the new version 3.88 cannot be loaded into the console at all.
At startup, it reports that the model numbers do not match.
I have a console about a year old, and a three-year-old logger, so I have no idea what model numbers Davis has in mind.

what’s the model number on the back of the console

I have two consoles and it doesn’t work on any of them.
But according to the model number, it should go what Davis writes.
I enclose a slide.

I found the reason why the new software version could not be loaded.
One answering machine didn’t work well, so I ordered a new one.
He came to me today and managed the new version on both consoles without any problems.
This means that the console alone is not enough for a person and the outdated logger may not work with the latest software.

So just to clarify the older loggers were not letting the update happen but the new logger was ok, that sounds like a logger firmware issue but i don’t think it can be updated i have only ever seen an ip logger firmware update

Yes, that’s exactly how you write.
Maybe Davis should point out this problem in advance, if he knows about it.

are your loggers serial or usb
