I was greeted this morning with an error dialog that said something to the effect “for home weather stations has stopped working. You will be notified if a solution is available”. However, WD seems to be running fine as well as all of the uploads to my web. Does anyone know what this is?
I have found that indeed my ftp is not working to my wdl setup on the internet when this crash occurs. As soon as i turn on the ftp setting in the wdl setup tab, i think the ftp service crashes. This was working for a couple of days. I guess i need to review my wdl options.
Ive got the same message sometimes. In these occasions it’s wdwebcamcapture.exe has crashed for some reason.
Restart WD, an everything is back to normal…
SOLVED As usual, this turned out to be a problem with something other than wd. It was a real coincidence that i made some changes to my wd setup to accomodate wdl. That same night, my web host decided to change security settings and passwords and that was preventing wd’s ftp app from logging into my ftp account.
At worst, maybe wd’s ftp app needs some error trapping to present a friendlier user dialog and then quietly close the ftp application.
I don’t get a crash - just the upload to the website fails about once a week when the little red arrow appears on the yellow upload icon in the system tray shows,
The Windows error log reads :
clientrawrealtimeftp.exe, version 5.7.0.0, faulting module msvcrt.dll, version 7.0.2600.5512, fault address 0x000370d2.
Any clues ?
