I have a couple of Ecowitt devices, the GW1100A and a camera, I want to intergrate them into Home Assistant, however my Customised server protocol is already taken up by the forwarding to my website, has anyone found a solution to this what seems like simple issue?
Well one option is to buy another gateway (GW1100 or GW1200 etc) simplest but costs money
Another option is to use a program called FOSHKplugin if you run Linux, see https://wiki.loxberry.de/plugins/foshkplugin/foshkplugin_generic_version not sure if it will run using Windows or Mac but it allows one gateway to send the data to it and then it can be forwarded on to other systems or applications.
There are some other user written scripts which can do similar but require a local web server using PHP to work. Other may add further suggestions I’m not aware of.

The simple solution: buy a spare GW1100, not that expensive and you separate the website and HomeAssistant
or
( in a few weeks) upgrade to the new version of PWS_Dashboard and use the ecowitt API
But that results in less frequent data loaded from the ecowitt.net server
or
read the data from your current GW1100 via the local API directly into your HomeAssistant
Only if that supports the local API
or
Add a raspberryPI with a special program which ca do a lot more uploads to all different networks and HomaAssisant, but more complex and more expensive.
But you get a lot of extra things to play with
FOSHKplugin - generic version [LoxBerry Wiki - BEYOND THE LIMITS]
For simplicity, I would buy an extra GW1100 to be used for HomeAssistant only.
Thank you everyone, I will give the FOSHKplugin a try
Hi!
I will give the FOSHKplugin a try
Good decision.
With ONE additional forward, another GW1200 or GW1100 would certainly be an option. But maybe you want to do other things with your weather data later - you can’t keep buying another device for another forward.
With FOSHKplugin you have the option of creating up to 100 forwards. At no additional cost.
The learning curve may be quite high at first. But as soon as you have understood how to create the first forward, all further forwards are no problem.
Please use the current beta version of FOSHKplugin V0.10.
In addition to the option of creating another forward for Home Assistant integration, there is also the MQTT option with autodiscovery for Home Assistant.
Success!

I have weather display pushing my weather data to home assistant via mqtt and it works flawlessly. I could push as many datapoints as I wish but these are the only ones I need for my automations. Regarding the cameras I have Unifi and there is an integration to do this within HA.
what a pumkpin crap counter???
lol monitors how often the cat uses the cat box for cleaning. Its due lol
Ohhh I can incorporate how often my tumble drier needs the lint filter cleaning and how many cycles it has done, for the entire world to see. I really need others to see this information LOL
Oh so I can code, but I am having real issues getting to grips with MQTT, for some reason my dyslexic brain isn’t coping with it.
Has anyone a real idiots guide as I have a few things that I’d like to use MQTT for (pushing weather station data to home-assistant and my website, pushing data from Air Quality sensors from Home assistant to the website and a DB)
