Ecowitt GW1000 issues

I’m trying to get an Ambient WS-2902B working with WD using an Ecowitt GW1000. I can access the WS-2902B through WS View on my phone. The problem I’m having is getting the data into WD. I’m looking at the Ecowitt configuration and can’t quite figure out how to get this to work. Anyone who has this setup running care to share a screenshot of your ‘control panel’, ‘station types and settings’ settings? Or any suggestions? Thanks in advance…

Jeff

you just need to enter the IP address of the GW1000 device and click enable in WD
then the separate crongw1000 program should run and pick up the data for WD

you can get the IP address via your logging in to your router setup screen via a browser and then going to the connected devices tab
e.g it will be like 192.168.0.23

Thanks Brian. I thought that was all you had to do but When I tried that it didn’t work. I then checked the IP address and found I was using the IP of the Ambient 2902B. It would accept it but not pass any data. I corrected my error and got it working with the Ecowitt’s address. All is now working …

Jeff

good you got it working
I just added support for the lightning detector
I need to add support for the soil and water temperature sensors too

Good to know, I might then also add the lightning detector …

First, let me say this…IT WORKS! The GW-1000 very inexpensive ($35 on Amazon) and easy way to get the Ambient WS-2000 data into WD! So far, I have only found one minor problem (and I’m not sure if I may have something set wrong!).

First, I have confirmed this by matching wind speed and wind gust readings between the Ambient display and the WS View app for the GW-1000… everything matches perfectly.

However, in WD, the wind is displayed as “wind average” and the wind gust is displayed as “current wind speed”. Any thoughts on where to fix this?

Thanks for all the help so far… you have saved me a lot of trial and error (not to say… a lot of money!).
