I am running a Davis Vantage Pro 2 with Solar and UV sensors. They have worked without issue for years. However, recently WD has stopped displaying solar data. It is visible on the VP2 console, but WD shows 0 W/m^2.
I have not made any changes to WD recently. Control Panel > Station Type & Settings > DAVIS VANTAGE PRO is selected & “I have Solar + UV” is checked.
Separately, I am getting UV values on the console and in WD but the UV values seem a bit low for my location in Florida.
I updated to the most recent WD version today, but the problems still exist.
Does anyone have any advice?
If you’re seeing the Solar readings on the console then WD should be recording them.
Firstly, go into the WD program folder > Logfiles > look for a file called “82023vantagelog.txt” and open it to check whether the Solar Radiation & UV readings are being recorded.
If they are, then you know WD is recording the data and it’s just a display setting, If it’s recording UV & not Solar then you need to look at all the Solar settings.
You’ve checked the settings are correct in Control Panel > Station Type & Settings. Next, check the main switch is ON under Control Panel > Solar Sensor, then check the “Current Readings” tab to see if anything is showing.
Also check the settings under the “Max Solar Time of Day…” tab, to make sure they are correct.
See how you go with that and hopefully something will sort the issue.
