Davis VP Forecast

Hi,

It seems like $vpforecasttext it not updating. The forecast below is not even close. The VP says “Cloudy with little temp change”

$vpforecasttext = ‘CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF SHOWERS. PATCHY DRIZZLE AND FOG. HIGHS IN THE UPPER 50S. LIGHT AND VARIABLE WINDS. CHANCE OF RAIN 50 PERCENT.’; // Forecast text from the Davis VP

Is anyone else seeing this???

what shows on WD (i.e set it to scroll)

Hi Brian,

WD is showing the bad forecast. I did recently change WD to scroll the forecast.

ps If you click on the on the icon (webcam image) on the main WD screen I get a forecast that is different then NWS ond WXSIM?

set to log the raw data , under setup, advanced/misc
then let me know what shows for the raw vp forecast, under view, ws2010/ws2500 data setup
actualy that will show the wrong value…uploading a .zip update to change that, now

I downloaded the zip update and made the changes

this is what it should come out as:
partly cloudy with little temp. change.

i suspect you have a setting wrong in WD
i.e like you have set to use a wxsim forecast or the forecast from the 5 day noaa forecast (i.e ticked to use that for WDL in the noaa download)

Hi Brian, :oops:

As you know I always post the solution, however this time, I’m not sure what actually fixed the problem. In a spasm to fix the problem I changed several things. I do remember stopping the scrolling on the main WD page and installing the latest ver of WD with the zip file.

To make matters worse my email that I send out each morning to about 70 people no longer has the forecast in it. This just started this morning. I have attached a copy of the txt file.

Do you have the 5 day forecast working anywhere? Otherwise my guess would be that you have turned it off, and that’s why it’s no longer overriding the VP forecast.

yes
you need to still have the 5 day forecast enabled and working
but it would have been that you had set that to be used for WDL, that would have been the setting
