Davis Vantage Vue + Weatherlink Console

I am using a Davis Vantage Vue station and the new Weatherlink Console. I am running WD for Windows Build #149 (and had been using build 148 with similar results). I am not receiving results from weatherlink.com in the WD software. I am reaching out here to see if anyone else is using the Weatherlink console from Davis and trying to get the resulting data in WD. The data is posting to weatherlink.com.

I know that my API credentials are correct as the Load List button under Station ID Override in the Station Configuration does pull my station information in, including the installation location details that I set up with the Davis weatherlink console. One last item to note is that I am seeing a Davis Weatherlink.com History Data Download window but it seems to be hanging on the Logger Date and Time and never progresses beyond 0%.

I have enabled the Pro tier of account service and enabled the device as Pro to see if that makes any change. If anyone is having success in this manner, please let me know. At the moment, for testing I am running a trial version of WD - does that make a difference?

I don’t have a console so I can’t comment on that. However, I’m fairly sure that the trial version of WD doesn’t limit your use in any way so I don’t think that’s the problem.

I did not expect the demo to be the issue, but I am grasping at straws at the moment. Has anyone tried to do API calls from Weatherlink.com with any success? If the API is not working on Davis’ end, then that is hardly the fault of the WD software. I looked into making API calls yesterday and eventually pulled the pin on doing API calls myself.

The solution was that the device ID I had entered was in upper case (as it shows in Weatherlink.com) and needed to be in lower case. I made this change under advice from Brian and it began to bring the data in almost immediately.

Thanks @DSI_Weather_Guy - I had the exact same problem with a new console and lowercase fixed it for me.

Maybe I spoke too soon. I’m getting no rainfall data, other data seems ok. Seems like a setting, but not sure which one.

BlueRidge2 - I haven’t had any rain but intend to test all readings on Tuesday when I am back in the office. Once I get a rain reading I will see what I see. There is a setting in the rainfall that is for “Use rain total’s from console/cloud/WLL”. I would make sure that option is checked. It is checked in my settings at the moment.

Thanks. Yes, I have the option selected.

I artificially made it rain in the station - Weatherlink.com picked up the rainfall reading but does not appear to have passed that information on to WD. I currently have a rate of .08 on weatherlink and .07 on the console with a daily total of .21 (all readings in inches). The log file is not showing the rainfall readings either.

For testing, I have changed the setting to not get the rain from weatherlink.com now.

Have you tried adjusting anything with the rainfall readings in WD?

The only other option selected in that section is rain gauge is 0.2mm - I can’t see anything else that would make a difference here.

@BlueRidge2 - there is an updated version that has corrected the rainfall readings issue in the WD software.

Thanks for the update @DSI_Weather_Guy, I installed that build and have working rainfall data too.
