Date stamped month to date gif (9monthtodate.gif)

Hi Brian,
as you can see - there is a small issue where the monthtodate gif for the previous month gets wiped of data at the start of the new month (I am using 10.17p)

the 9monthtodate.gif data is all gone - therefore rendering it useless. I did manage to save it a day in advance with all data so I will use that one for my website.

I will have to revert to version 10.15something that does not do this for the end of October as I will be away on holiday.

If you could look at this by the end of this month that will be great.

just checked my 9monthtodate.gif

only shows graph for 30th i think this is related to the month changeover thread

I got 3 days, but had a problem with collecting data for the 29th.

Seems to be a problem. Once it is corrected, how do we re-create the 9month graph?

Hi Brian,
just checking if you have had time to look at this problem yet?
I am going away for the end of this month so need to know whether the version of WD I am running (10.18c) has sorted things out - or if I need to download a newer version, or go back to running my 10.15z just while I am away so that the 10monthtodate.gif retains all the data?
Thanks

i think its OK
i will see if i get a chance to run a mock end of month

Hi Brian,

Both your manakau heads and grahams beach time stamped month graphs have had their data wiped at month changeover so I guess this problem is still occurring??

I was running 10.15z while I was away on holiday so my 10monthtodate.gif remains intact - but if this ongoing issue cannot be fixed then you could probably get rid of this altogether as it is of no use? I cannot keep going back to 10.15z at the end of every month unless I use that version for ever more which I don’t want to do as it has other bugs in it.

Thanks
Martyn

for me to it’s not working monthtodate :frowning:
will be nice if it comes back again.

vossen

well, i did intend to test this, but the 31st was our daughter birthday, and there was another birthday the day before that,. so it did not happen
now, you could recover the graph:
go to view, graph hisotry, then go back to October, then set a start day of 1, a end day of 31, then click on save graph
then rename the file savedgraph.gif, in the webfiles folder to 10monthtodate.gif and upload that to your web site
(but i need to get rif of the crowded to gether hour vertical lines)

Thanks Brian,

had a quick play for October but also the day numbers are not on the graph, the rain amount is not cumulative and for there is a large gap to the right. see attached piccie. and why does it put day 18 at the top?

Many thanks for trying to implement my graph request anyway. I guess the end of month changeover poses too many problems - is it possible to code the routine so it does not produce the date stamped monthly file on the last day of the month and also the first day of the next month?? maybe the data will remain intact then?

i have had a good look
and i see where i went wrong

it should be ok now, in the next version, for next month

(the problem is the av/ext is done on day 1
but the link needs to be for the last day of the previous month
so, you need to decrease the month by 1, and then check that is not a year wrap, and also, find how days in that month (some are 30, some are 31, etc)
but I have it ok now
what i have done is make a copy of the days monthtodate graph…
also, the month stamped month to date file is now also saved localy too (it was only working if you had .jpg ticked)

re the saved month to graph from the graph history:
i can fix that up
never fear
we can re build it
we have the technology
it will only cost 6 million dollars

as ever your support is top notch Brian, will see what happens at the end of the month. can I just check what version of WD this will have been fixed in?

also as an aside - can you point me to the right screen to turn off the daily graph gifs that get created? e.g. 20041103.gif

i have nearly perfected the month to date under view, graph history
just have to make the rain cumulative (as an option)
see in a new 10.18x
turning off date stamped daily graphs:
see under web upload times in the ftp/internet setup

ah yes - although all the daily graph checkboxes are already unticked - but still being created locally?!? not sure why?

ok, i will have to look into that…
a new 10.18z, yet again, and more improvements to the graph history and month to date (i.e view last months data)
now you can tick cumulative rain
and when you move the mouse, the day number shows at the top of the wd default style graph
now thats cool
(that new 10.18z version should be ready soon, check the time stamp on the download page)

Brian,
not sure what the latest with the monthtodate gifs but running 10.19a I can see a 0monthtodate.gif being created locally but not FTPed - is this supposed to be 11monthtodate.gif? the 11monthtodate.gif that gets FTPed at the moment stops at the 5th of Nov - it is now the 8th.

Ta
