One other quesetion: While starting up WD a popup appears where data from logger seems to be downloaded (anytime of startup all data are retrieved btw, which is annoying also) (e.g.: data since sept 03)
But: No way if I want to see this historical data (sept 03). :?
Why? Any help?
(I hope some time in the future I will be able to help as well)
Brian, I agree, is it possible to just download records from the time of shutdown, instead of all data in the buffer. This is time consuming and I think unneccessary since you only process the data from shutdown. A lot of us do not clear the records after the download, and do not want to. Weather-Link downloads only records needed so I believe it is possible.
Hi
i dont clear the records, and it works OK for me…i.e it only starts with where you want it started from (i.e when the pc was last running)
but is becuase i have the data logger set to 1 minute interval
what happens is that if you dont have the data logger set to 1 minute interval (which I recommend), then when wd starts up, it requests the data from a certain time/date…but it you have say every 10 minute logging interval, if that time was say minute 3, then the data logger will not have a record for that minute…and so it just starts at the begining of the records in the data logger and wd has to wait until the time of the record comes around.
i.e its not really my fault
but, what i need to do, is know what data logging interval you have set (i.e the data pad out in the data logger setup), and then round the requested time out to the nearest (10, 30 etc) minute
I will try that, and then you can see if that works
also, with non 1 minute data logging interval, it means wd struggles with the daily reset times, etc, which is all based on 1 minute logging
I started using my VP 24/7 about a month ago and just set it to one minuet today. Good to know this will now only load from the minuet the program was shut down. This will also work well for short down times for rebooting or maintenance.
I use to run mine at 15 min / 15 pad. It would round to the next 15 min but load all the records in the buffer, then process from the shut down time. If you fix this it would be a big improvement for those who shut their computers down and run longer than one minuet.
