Up to yesterday (10-10-11) all was well. Then all of the sudden my logfiles appears to have lost all data from the 2nd through the 5th of this month. All was there yesterday. Even the backups (since rewritten) has the data lost?
What could have happened to lose that many days of history and is there any chance I can recover it? I check the dailyreport, log backup zip file, everything I can think of and this data has simply disappeared into thin air. Log entries show as follows:
2 10 2011 9 33 39.7 93 37.8 29.967 6.1 6.0 333 0.000 0.050 0.710 35.547 39.7
6 10 2011 17 37 39.7 93 37.8 29.967 5.8 5.8 333 0.001 0.051 0.709 35.547 39.7
All data prior to and after this is fine. The above lines are exactly in order and as it appears in the logfile now. So from the 2nd at 09:33 through the 6th at 17:37 the data just got erased. The WD program had no apparent issues and only a reboot was issued after properly shutting down WD to clear out memory and start fresh just this AM. I know the info was there prior as I was looking at it to compare to Oct 2010 for my own personal research. I DL’d the logfiles of 102011 and 102010 opened them in my editor for comparison purposes then dumped them… not re-uploading them to avoid overwriting info currently at the time.
This has happened before in the past but I was able to extract the lost info from the backups. But now even those are “corrupted” (missing the same data).
Any way I can retrieve that info so I can input it back into the logfile so can correct?
