Data has stopped

Hi there.

I have a WS3600 and have been running WeatherDisplay since Xmas last year. All iof a sudden a couple of weeks ago, it froze and we now get no data changes either to the WeatherDisplay program or to the web page. The time is updating on the web page though. You can see this at http://www.onerosecottage.co.uk/flashweather.htm

HeavyWeather - the software supplied with the station is reporting the correct data so there is nothing wrong with the station or its link to the PC.

Any thoughts??

David

Definitely an issue between WD and your station. I’ll move this topic into the WD section.

David,

I naver had your station but I believe the 3600 can connect to WD in two different methods, if so have you tried the other method… One is Fetch 3600 IIRC and I believe the other is reading from HW and not directly from your station… but really need another 3600 user to help here.

David,

I have a WS3600 and also get WD data from Heavyweather. I’m probably stating theobvious but here goes.

In control panel>station type make sure the La Crosse 3600 is selected. Confirm and set the location of history.dat in Heavyweather. Set History.dat logging internal to 1 minute. Make sure Heavyweather is also set to a 1 minute interval. DO NOT check “just use the fetch3600…”

In control panel>com port select a non existent com port like com 12. I don’t think this really matters, as I have never had a prob selecting com1 (where heavyweather is set) but I think I saw a post where someone did.

Try a 2nd install of WD (search the forum on how to do this) and set it up from scratch and see if it works. Edit: see this FAQ: Installing multiple instances of WD on your computer

Thanks. Whilst the problem I am trying to understand is why it suddenly stopped, your suggestion of unchecking the ‘just uase the fetch’ has sorted the problem.

Thanks for the help.

David

David, if you had Heavyweather running and had checked to use Fetch3600 then that probably caused the freeze as they were both trying to access the com port. Glad you’re up and running.
