Custom screen background incorrect

Hi,

You can see what the background to my custom screen should look like in my signature below. Yet, on my website, it comes out black – please see the attachment and/or go to http://www.morseweather.com/wxadvanced.php. What have I done wrong here, please. It used to work fine, but I have done something to screw it up.

Also, I am taking my sky conditions from Sydney Airport. Right now it shows clear (top right of the attachment) as does my customscreen. However, in the Table below that, towards the bottom, it incorrectly shows current sky conditions as heavily overcast. Again, what have I done, please?

When I get it right this time, I’ll photograph all pages in my set up, so I can fix it myself if I stuff it again and not have to bother you guys so much.

Cheers,

Rick

you can see the background image appear between the summary image and the metar image
just

looks to be some problem with your web page html I suspect

Thanks Windy. It is most appreciated having guys like you out there suggesting how problems might be solved.

However, I’m not sure where to go with that information. I dunno if this will help, but I opened myweather.html in notepad and the beginning states:

Weather Data

Cheers,

Rick

, but I opened myweather.html in notepad and the beginning states:
but the URL you posted above is to wxadvanced.php

so you should be opening that instead

OK. That reads:

replace

with

OK. I have changed it to read as shown below and downloaded it to my website. But, sorry buddy, it’s still black. Any other suggestions?

I don’t think you can do a simple html bodybackground with the template site design, you are using .css and have other included files like header.php which may affect the way this works.

I suggest moving the question to the templates forum where it will attract the attention of Ken and the other web coding gurus.

Done.

Rick

Hmmm, maybe there is a misunderstanding here :? Are you asking for this summary graphic

to be generated with a different background?

you might be right there Niko

Thanks Niko. I originally had it set up so that what you see in my signature below this post is what appeared with the top lefthand box on http://www.morseweather.com/wxadvanced.php and is in your post. It used to do that, but about three or four months ago it changed to what you see now with slightly different text and a black background. I have no doubt that it changed because of something I did, but I have no idea what it was.

One of these days I’ll learn to leave things alone when they are working OK #-o. Further, I’ll photograph every setup screen so I have a permanent record of how it was when it was OK.

Cheers,

Rick

ah, so its nothing to do with HTML or web pages then

what looks like what might have happened is you have moved the background image off to the right, in the summary image , via the main screen customisation
try moving that back

I’m a bit of a clod, Brian, and really do not know how to do as you asked. Please give me more details.

However, I have gone into View > Summary Image and Weather Icons and found the offending image there (the one attached to Niko’s post above). What’s more, if I hit the Maximise button at the top righthand of the computer screen, I can see the correct base image there without all the current data filled in. It is beneath the offending image.

I assume I should reverse the changes I made to wxadvanced.php above?

Rick

I moved it back, sorry Rick I was blinded by all that .html #-o

Now I’ve screwed it up completely and I don’t know what I did. The custom screen has disappeared. I guess I’ll have to start all over again. Oh, well.

Rick

Well guys, I’ve completely redone the signature banner and, now, need to fix the summary graphic. How do I edit what is shown on it, please? For example, I’d like to remove the mostly cloudy comment under where the moon icon would go and record the Hi and Lo temperatures for the day.

Cheers,

Rick

PS. For you Kiwis – may the best team win. So long as its Manly
