Conflict Weatherlink5.6a & WD10.33o COM1 use

Win XP SP2+ system
Davis VP Pro Plus2 wireless
Upgraded to WD10.33o from AD10.33l

I now can not shut down weather display and upload to Weatherlink.

Weatherdisplay seems to not shutdown the link to COM1.

Weatherlink always shows it as opened by another program. Before the upgrade this was not a problem.

I have deleted and reloaded everything and the same thing happens the minute I have to restart Windows after I’ve loaded Weatherlink 5.6a then Weatherdisplay. In addition, it is very hard to get WD in the contrl panel to turn the Davis datalink on.

In an aside, WeatherDisplay does not show up in the Windows Control Panel to Remove Programs, is this normal?

Yes, it is normal that WD does not show up in remove programs, there is a recent thread on here about that somewhere.

I’m sure the port conflict can be resolved but in case you missed it I thought you might like to know that there is now a much better solution than the daily dump which is an inexpensive program, VirtualVP, that allows WL and WD to seamlessly share the VP.
