I’m new to WD and have a Co/Tech Weather Station and after sniffing the USB connection it seems it’s from Tenx Technology, Inc. ( China Weather Station it seems ).
Obviously there is no “China Station” button in WD, but I was wondering if there is any chance to get something working?
It’s connected via. USB to transfer data to PC, so far it only works in the software that came with it called “WeatherHome”.
I’ve tried just about any stations in WD but nothing, not even anything in debug window other than “Connection failed com port 1”.
But then I tried the “WH1081/WH3081/81-PC/Zephyr or Clones” tab and this showed up;

As said, I’m new to WD and unsure if I even set it up right. But have uninstalled it and first thing I clicked was that WH1081 tab and that Raw messages popped up.
So something is defineteley going on, it’s a step forward for anything else I’ve tried.
I greatly appreciate if anyone out there has any ideas of what I can try to make it work ( if possible ).
that was a good long shot, that it might be compatible with the WH1081 type station
but all the data is NULL (i.e zeros),so its not working
can the station be set to send data to wunderground?
it does look a bit like a WH1081 type console
so try this:
power down the console completly (remove batteries and disconnect from pc) for a few minutes
power up,reconnect to pc
then try WD again with the WH1081 type station
I tried this but nothing so far, I even tried to make a Virtual ComPort and do USB>Virtual Comport - Says in WD is connected to the Comport but again, nothing comes up in terms of data.
So far I’ve tried just about anyting - no joy. Seems like I have to get a new weather station.
Unless there is a way to import .mdb database into WD?
The software that came with the weather station streams directly to a .mdb file once the program is opened, so if in some miracle way that would import into WD it could technically work (?)
i.e unzip/copy out to where you have WD installed to already (i.e c:\wdisplay)
(exit WD first)
run
then select the weather station type as Co Tech (see in the tab that starts with Capricorn)
then select the Co Tech station type
then select the WeatherHome.mdb file updated by the software that comes with the station (you will need to run that at the same time, and also note that it is only updating the database every 10 minutes)
indoor temp is working with the file you sent me OK
and so was the rain
can you post a screen shot of what you see in the WD main screen?
also see if you can get the database file to be updated more often by the software that comes with the station maybe?
also is there any errors under view, program event log?
Indoor temperature just came in, which is great
Nothing shows up in logs however and Rain is not showing so far, maybe it might come at some point if it worked at your place
Yeah I set the original software to update every 16 seconds to the mdb file, we’ll see if works. I might have to tweak it a little bit as 16 seconds could be too often (?)
EDIT: I have 0.3mm rain last hour on WeatherStation, too bad it somewhat stopped raining outside lol Tomorrow is going to pour down like crazy, so it would be like the christening then.
