clientraw.txt stop uploading from time to time (FIXED)

for about a year now I been having problems with clientraw.txt all of a sudden not uploading anymore till I reboot the computer. Weather Display program shows no errors in the log. I even upgraded the hard drive to a SSD. and it would work great for weeks. then just out of the blue the clientraw will be outdated on my website.

if no one has any thoughts on what is doing it. I will reset WD back to the way it was and start over. if I cant fig this out.

is the clientrawftp icon still showing in the task bar when the cllientraw.txt stops uploading i have had this and if i open the icon it had an error 103 in the text and the auto restart fails i found manually closing the program then restarting it either from the start button on the clientraw tag in setup or double clicking the program in the main folder usually sorts it without a reboot

What version of WD? As @hcorrin says there is now (since build 115?) an auto restart when upload fails, which you select in Control Panel > Real Time FTP as usual. But if the icon is still visible you can right-click it and select Show. Go to end of the log to see what is happening, and then press Reset - possibly more than once.

Thanks guys my version of WD is (10.37S-(b124)) I now am trying that auto restart. I will let you know how it goes.

ok 5 days latter it did it again. I did check the taskbar and it is showing that clientraw is uploading just fine. so a reboot and the uploads just start working again like nothing is wrong.

I think as far as WD is working its working just fine. That is why it will not restart the uploads because as far as it know nothing is wrong.

I am going to do a temp move to a different computer and reset WD and start over. I may have a setting or something making it mess up.

I found out why my clientraw stopped. I had a 2nd computer running WD reading the same file to do its own updates and it looks like that was making my uploads go bad. I stopped the other computer and my main one has not missed a beat since.

That brings back a vague memory: http://discourse.weather-watch.com/p/508981

So in my case the other computer locked clientraw (“file in use”) so WD could not update it, but WD could still upload the old file. Same end result!

Oh yes and I bet you were as happy as I was when you fig it out.
