"Clean" Installation of WD

Brian,

While having some difficulties the last couple of months with the FTP problem I’ve decided to completely uninstall WD and start over with all “first installation” defaults. Then re-enter all the required settings specific to my site. I obviously want to retain all of my data and historical record information. Is there a procedure for doing such a thing?

Cheers,
Michael

Michael,

This FAQ discusses removing WD, read all the way to the last entry from Brian,

I am not sure there is an easy way to start a whole new WD install and automatically have your old records included…

:stop: I would suggest holding off on deleting the curent install. I would use the second copy procedure which will run a second, clean, install of WD which doesn’t use the settings or files of the old install. You can use this second install to troubleshoot, later you can transfer the fix to the old install, or I think it is possible to move over the datafiles from the old install and recreate the records.

Running a second copy FAQ.

I will try that! Thanks for the insight.

if its just the internet settings
then go, action, delete registry entry now
then restart WD

(but still back up your registry settings first)

Brian,

What exactly gets deleted? Will all the cam settings? Station settings? etc…
I want to be sure I write down my settings for CWOP, WU, etc…

all the internet settings

but see the other thread

as its most liley a conflict with your WU webcam uploads
