Can't connect new Mac W-D to com port

Just installed the latest W-D on an M1 Mac running Sequoia 15.1. I have a serial-USB converter for my Peet Bros Ultimeter 2100. When I went to choose the com port (which had worked fine with the Fluent Weather program) I had a choice of 2 ports, one starting with tty, and the other something else, but both had the same identifier at the end. I am not getting any connectivity, and wanted to change the serial port, but I can’t do it. When I click on COM/IP port in the control panel nothing happens, and using the wizard when it gets to the COM port step it just returns back to the setup panel. When I start up the Fluent program (which had not been running) it finds the com port fine.

Any general suggestions? Where is the setup data stored for W-D? If I delete that I could then just try a new setup.

Thanks

My “two” serial ports are:

/dev/tty.usbserial-AG0K7DZW and
/dev/cu.usbserial-AG0K7DZW

which are of course the same port with a different nomenclature. I unfortunately don’t remember which I chose.
