Cannot send emails

I have been though the forum and have read a couple of other posts but my problem continue to be unsolved.

I’m using version 10.37Q build 80 and my problem is that I, for some reason, can’t send emails from WD to our national weather service (in fact I’m not even successful sending an email to my own email address). I have followed the instructions on the webpage, tried all kind of settings (my ISP uses port 587 and no SSL). I’m using my normal smtp server. I have tried two other smtp servers without luck. I have looked in my spamfolder - nothing.

I have looked at the log file and I can’t see any problem. Only thing is that it seem that the file is empty and perhaps this is the problem. But why is it empty then? and what file is in fact send as email. Perhaps I have to create a file before I can start uploading emails. I hope some of you can

you say your email does not use SSL
but you have set to use that
so untick that setting

Thanks Windy

Good point, but the problem is that it is unticked. This is how the log looks like when I tick it.

As you can see it disconnect immediately. I think I have to call my ISP again and discuss with them. It must be their settings causing a problem for me. Perhaps they have a port (like 465) where TLS/SSL has to be activated.

PS I thought all port 587 today was set up for SSL/TLS to get more security/better defense against malware etc. Perhaps I should try to look for another ISP.

 Finally. I got contact to the right person at my ISP. He could inform me that my emails was considered as malware!!! Anyway. He did something, so now I’m using port 465 with SSL/TSL activated and everything is working. Hurraaa.

So I close the case. Thanks for your help Windy - it let me in the right direction.
