Can I use extra sensor as solar (!) sensor?

Hey guys, I have a few extra sensors (temp/hygro).
Can I use one of those as a soil sensor, or should I use a special soil sensor ??

When I go to “View” > “WMR918-968 extra sensors” then I can setup a solar sensor in screen nr. 1.

And call me stupid: but what does a soil sensor messure?
( I can’t find a translation for it #-o )

hi, yes, in that screen, the wmry918/68 extra sensor screen, you can set a extra temp/hum sensor to use as a soil temperature…
i.e, you would bury the temperature sensor to 10cm depth (i.e waterproof the small thermistor found inside the temperature sensor, and extend the wiring, to just bury that sensor)

Hi Windy, you’re so fast! I was just going to change this question.
I meant solar sensor. This happens when english is not your native language :oops:

When going to “View > WMR 918/68 extra sensors > Setup solar sensor” you can use one of the extra sensors as a solar sensor.
So my question should be: can I use one of the extra temp/hygro-sensors as a solar sensor or should it be a special one?

what you need to do is go to the setup, control panel, solar setup
and there you select which extra temperature sensor to use as a temperature solar sensor
(1 2 or 3)
