I’ve had my weather station up and running for a few weeks now (www.philholmes.net/weather) and I’ve got to thinking that the barometer isn’t reading accurately. I’ve sorted out Weather Display so both the console and the Weather Display software read the same, but I think the WMR is actually getting its measurement wrong. So - 2 questions:
- Is there a recommended way of checking the calibration
- Is there a way of correcting the sensor if it’s wrong?
TIA
First, Welcome to the forum

One way to check the calibratiion is if there is an “offical” station located near you(i would say <10 km) or if you have a “good” mercury or alchohol therometer.

I don’t believe that you can change the readings on the station (hopefully someone that has that station will chime in here) but you can add offsets in WD under setup, control panel, offsets and enter particular offsets to get the correct data.
Hope this helps and you missed a letter in your url, should be http://www.philholmes.net/weather

Thanks - URL now corrected. I had thought I could change the offset in WD - so that brings me to the third question I should have asked:
- Is there a way of correcting the history data if I decide the barometer has been reading wrongly?
Phil,
There may not be a direct adjustment for barometric pressure on the station, but there should be an altitude entry which does adjust the displayed pressure.
Buford,
Hmm, an alcohol barometer, never seen one of those, by my calculation it would be about 43 feet tall 8O Good science project…

Wow, I complety miss read that question. I thought it said temperature. :x If the WMR918 is anything like the WM918 (which i used to use) it should be under the barometer, you can set the sea level barometer there.
