I dare say there was colder in the UK this morning but i broke my
all time record for the lowest temperature, it now stands at -7.5oC
That’s nice! I like it when it’s clear and cold.
I was wondering the other day how long it would be until we’d break -20
I recorded -8.4
-4.3c at 20H00 pm NW London
I broke mine again tonight down to -7.6 but its slowly climbing again and now at -7.3
Whats suprised me though is Stornoway is only at 4.7c, quite mild considering…
-6.3 and still dropping here … at 1.2 c / hr 8O
Not often we get temps like this in the Southwest !! So much for the mild climate :lol:

Quite balmy here too. Minimum today 2.8
Its certainly a strange one for the UK, we dont normally get so cold, more so for this length of time
Well, not recently anyway, Since the 29th last month its been above 0.0 3 times, 0.5C on the 29th Dec,
1.1C on the 2nd Jan and i think it touched 0.0C yesterday, Comparing this year to last year, theres no
comparison really, New Years day last year was 7.0C lol and the week looks like it averaged about 6C, this
weeks averaged about -4.0 or thereabouts, im pants with maths lol… but they were right when they said
this winter was going to be below the average

Anyhow my station’s record was broken again this night: -11.7
2 nights 2 new low temp records, first monday/tues -2.7 C, today at 03:49 down to -3.6 C, station been going since May 2007.
Not very often we get a sharp frost here.
Pretty chilly for Newquay! The sea usually keeps temperatures up a bit more there (ex Newquay Boy).
Here in the sticks near Summercourt in Mid Cornwall, it was -5.8 C at 4.39am (the wdconsole stopped at that time for some reason, so no idea how low it got after that). Update: I dug the data out of the station with fetch2300 and it reached a low of -6.2 C at 7.50am
Currently -2.5 C (at 10.28am), frost all over the garden, car still frozen up.

Looking Northward from here (NE Scotland) it varies greatly depending on the N sea proximity.
It feels cold but temp just above 0oC since midnight here.
