Hi
as it is quite clear that windy keeps on top of issues and resolves them with speed, to keep up with these changes, is it possible to get an auto update option added, where by the software checks for and and installs the latest version at periodic intrvals?
would be good for thoese that run a second machine to record data and display on the web. (this relates to me, as i am putting together a micro unit to tuck away to do just what i have said)
Not sure that would work since every program associated with wd must be shutdown before updating. Then there would need to be an option to shut that feature off. Just my thought.
Those were my initial thoughts as well.
I also like to install updates when the other programs on the PC aren’t active, so there’s no conflicts.
As well as WD I also run:
WXSim (runs 7 times a day with WXSimate)
Nexstorm
WASP2
Tsentry
NSLog
Digital Atmosphere
AIS Dispatcher
AirNav Radar
Yocam
Startwatch
Quake Catcher
it could work in theory, as this has been asked before
(where by WD check for a file on the server, downloads an update (setup exe that does not prompting, runs that when its finished downloading, and exits straight away (which exits other running programs ) and the setup program launches WD auto at the end again)
but it would put alot of strain on the WD server…
I just log into my Remote computer once in a while, with LogMeIn, to both update Windows and occasionally update WD, however I am more of the “If it ain’t broke don’t fix” type when it comes to WD.
I have fixed some things that was causing stability problems for some users in WD
so you should be good to go to upgrade to the latest version Jaxweather
