At least two threads chasing the same problem ...

The thread in ‘chatter’ and the one in ‘questions’ regarding memory use seem to be going along the same track. I am not experienced with computers and like my own specialist subject there is a discreet language which is not always easy to follow. Both threads seem to be converging and to try and learn from them as well as check out my own system is becoming increasingly difficult.
Any chance of these threads being somehow merged to save ‘channel hopping’ to see the various responses ?

I can merge threads, although I don’t know what they look like afterwards!

I’m shattered though and I’ve got to go to bed before I fall asleep at the keyboard. If someone can point me at the two threads I’ll try merging them tomorrow.

Thank you Chris.
It was just a thought and perhaps a selfish one. I too am knackered and am heading for my pit.

Chris, I think John was talking about these two posts?..

Chris the two threads whivch are mentioned here are both mine. The one in chatter was never meant to be a discussion on any bug, it was intended to provoke debate on how best WD might move forward from a performance issue and relating to new features etc. Unfortunately the posts often digress from the intended topic, this can be good but sometimes does lead to a little confusion.

The other was intended to be a discussion on memory useage and seems to have remained so. There is one other topic about handles which did briefly get mixed up with my Musing on Memory thread, but that is now discounted from my problems as I do not have any problems with handles.

I would prefer them to be kept separate. I tihnk if they were merged then if it is done by date and time on each post it will simply become a mess which will be unintelligible.

Stuart

That would be my vote too.
