For many people collecting badges was something they did when they were younger (much younger for me!) so you might not be very interested in the fact that Discourse has a number of badges available for users.
If you expand the ‘Community’ (if it’s collapsed) and then click on the three dots ‘More’ menu you’ll expand the menu still further. One of the extra menu items is ‘Badges’. This shows all the badges that are available and which you’ve already got (green ticked). If you click on a badge you’ll see another page displayed that tells you a little bit about what you need to do to get the badge.
Now collecting badges might still be an activity for youngsters, but don’t dismiss them just yet. Even if you don’t want to collect badges one of their purposes is actually to get people to better understand how to use the forum functions. So trying to get a badge might teach you how to do something you didn’t know how to do before.
At the end of the day it’s up to you whether you try to get any/more/all of the badges, but take a look at them and maybe learn a bit by doing so!
