APRS / CWOP Call sign

Is it possible to allow a dash in the Station ID? Like xxxxxx-4 . At present if you put a dash in there, it will be stripped out and left with xxxxx4

I didn’t know that CWOP issued any station IDs with a hyphen?

They don’t, but if you are a Ham Radio Operator, you can use your own call sign and they will associate it with CWOP’s station ID they give you. I run an APRS Weather station and at the end of my call sign I have a -4 to signify a weather station. I can’t remove the dash, so that is why I was hoping that WD can add a dash, no spaces just a dash like VE1ER-4.

I use the dash and it does not get stripped out in my report:

KC9DNQ-3>APRS,TCPIP*,qAC,CORE-2:@031400z4120.50N/08817.87W_269/001g003t074r000p000P000b10205h71.WD 31

You should be able to add the dash, see my screen capture.

I’m using WD 10.37f build 09.

Maybe the trick is that “not using a CWOP ID” check box?

Thanks to hydrowx and his screen shot and niko for noticing the check mark. I have checked the box for not using a CWOP ID and it works now with a -4 !!! Amazing how the most obvious answer is usually staring you in the face but you are too blind to see it. :oops:
