Anywhere to see average indoor temperature?

Is there anywhere in WD where I can easily see what the average indoor temperature has been as recorded by WD over the last 24 hours? Or 7 days? Or Month?

Kind of like what you see in the Avg/Extremes report?

I have my indoor temp/humidity sensor in an environment with active cooling systems and I’m looking for an easy way to see what the overall average temperature is over the last day/week/month. This will help me tune the climate control as I’m more concerned with the overall average temperature than the peaks and troughs as the cooling turns on/off around it’s set-points.

I’m sure I can just export it from WD and crunch it in excel, but looking for a ‘lazy mode’ way of doing this…

There is an indoor log file in logfiles folder also a csv file if you have that set up to be created

Thanks I found that. I also noticed that there is a tick box to add Indoor temperature to the NOAA reports. However, that doesn’t seem to be working properly. It has listed my indoor temp at 14.2 average for the last 5 days, but when I run the log file into excel the average is 14.7, 14.9, etc… so it’s not calculating the average correctly at all?

Think you’ll have to ask Brian about that.

Go to View > Averages/Extremes NOAA Style Reports > Averages/Extremes > scroll to the bottom right of the window and tick “Show indoor Temperature”.

The average indoor temp for the month to date will not show in the totals area of this window. To see what it was for April, simply change the month under “Select the date to calculate” and click on “Update whole month now”.

Thanks @Budgie - I did that already but it seems bugged. The number reported daily and for the whole month is not matching the data in the indoor log file when I pass it through excel. Is yours setup this way and reporting accurately?

I can’t say I’ve run the data through Excel to check WD’s validity. I know WD show the accumulated average, so it’ll change over the month.

In the taglist.txt there’s also %avindoortempmid%…Average indoor temperature since midnight and you can also plot the indoor temp on the Real Time Graph under the View menu.

I don’t actually record the indoor temp & hum data as it’s not needed for my website feed, so I can’t be more help I’m afraid.

Seems that it was a bug and Brian fixed the Averages / Extremes report for me.

@Budgie I haven’t used the taglist function. Is that only for custom web pages or is there a way to use that to customize the weather display apps main window to show that? That would be great if I could.

You can add tags from taglist to the main screen.
Click on Setup > Advanced/Misc Settings > Customise Main Screen/Weather Dials/Summary Image/Metar/Real Time Graph
If you’ve got the standard main screen setup then have a play with this page and, if you don’t like it, just hit the “Start over Main” button to reset it back to normal.
