I am waiting for my betabrite led to show up…
With the use of WD does the sign only show the weather information when connected, or does it rotate through other messages you have set up?
Are you able to set up different options of the display, such as flash, scroll, snow, ect… in the “custom text” you can write?
Just curious, I have not been able to find much documentation on this…
if the amount of info is less than the width that the sign can hold (eg via the custom data)
then the sign will step through different ways of displaying the data
Did you get the USB or serial model of the Betabrite?
I got a serial model… and does not communicate with WD… tried the tester also… it connects to comm1… but wont put a message to it…
kitchi-rss works great though, so i just made a file for current conditions that is updated every 5 minutes by WD.
beta brite, or?
as WD is working with the Beta brite sign (via the separate cronledsign.exe)
in the latest version of WD (you do not say which version of WD you are using)
Yes beta brite. the cronledsign.exe starts up… but doesnt do anything other than hold open the comm port…
Im using WD Ver 10.37Q build 73
do you have the correct com port selected in the setup in WD?

I remember a discussion about feeding WD to an LED led strip lighting outdoor 12v led light bars led strip lighting sign. I checked through the board and found discussion about doing it but NOT HOW TO. So please don’t point me at that thread…already read it. Is there a How To set up an LED sign to display from WD document anywhere ? I opened up the control panel in WD and didnt see anything about an LED display.
