The thing in his GRLEVEL3 i am talking about is the “BEAM” That rotates counter clockwise around the image from his center point of the radar. I dont know the technical name for it, but when you see it, you’ll know what I mean.

Yes…you are Correct…it is being done with some sort of flash script animation. I wrote him an email and replied back saying he knows that Radar doesnt work this way…with the rotating counter clockwise beam, but it is basically just “Eye Candy”.
Thanks for that Link, although the Downloads are not working at this time on that page. I read the Guestbook part, and the person in charge said they hope to have the downloads working again by or on Friday. So if anyone is wondering why the downloads links are Not working right now…that is your answer.
as far as the beam thingy…not sure I will use that on my site, but some of the other things look interesting…ie: Storm Tracks Mods.
From what I’ve read in the past, he’s not too popular with the guys at Michigan WX system and Allison house,
cause he provides placefiles for free. P***ed a lot of people off by doing that.

I wrote gr_sweep for a group of people who kept begging me… I wrote it for free out of my own personal time just like all the other free placefiles at www.grlevelxmods.com BTW it doesn’t use flash, its just a GRLX placefile… If you don’t like the project then don’t use it…
For the people who do use these placefiles… I got most of the download links working… GR2Analyst web polling should be up within a few day…
some of the placefiles , you simply just copy and paste the url into your placefile manager window…as it says on the page there. for instance…give this one a try. it is the one for adding the transparent like tracking boxes, like seen in the attached image below. It also adds the Storm Cell ID Numbers to the cells, which comes in handy if you also have on your main grlevel3 page the “Storm Cell attribute Table” , by Jordan Gerth. if you dont know about this table…see my wxgr3radar.php page and scroll down to view it. or simply go here: ( Jordan Gerth )
just open your place file manager within grlevel3 program and then click on the yellow icon at top, now inside the URL box copy and paste this into that box:
MAKING SURE TO CHANGE THE “kbox” at the very end of the URL above…to your own Radar Station when adding it as a placefile.
I like this transparent like storm track boxes better than the original tracks symbols that comes with grlevel3. Just looks better overall in my opinion.
I do have some running Chris, but seems Derek has hosting issues from time to time as they
come back as “invalid place files”. I was wondering if they’re php generated
or something like that so I could generate and host my own, myself, thats all.
