I’m having issues with the alldayvideo feature working correctly. I have it set to make a alldayvideo as well as make and upload a movie every hour and upload to my weather website. Thoughout the day I have multiple movie maker icons running down on the taskbar. After opening them to see what’s going on I have some error messages that follow: on one movie maker running program it reads “ERROR: Cannot create file C:\wdisplay\alldayvideo\videolastday.mpg at time/date 11:11:19 AM 11/12/06” this is listed only once. On another moviemaker running the error reads “checking for file: C:\wdisplay\finish.txt” this error is listed numerous times like it keeps trying to find this file. The movies are sometimes created and uploaded to the website but they are missing the hours that the movie maker errors out. Todays movie has the first hour from 6-7am it’s missing the next 3 hours because something happened with the moviemaker and I had 3 moviemaker programs running, they had the errors as listed above. I closed out of those moviemaker programs and I’ll see what happens on the next hour. Since I have had this problem for some time now it should as in the past make the next hour or so before it errors out again and skips some hours before I am able to close the moviemaker programs that are getting errors. Seems this started when the new movie maker was used.
there is a log file, moviemakerlog.txt
check that too
what speed PC?
the checking for finish.txt, that file is created by the .bat script, after window media encoder has finished
i do know of setup that i have remote access to that the moviemaker does crash sometimes…
i will have to try and figure out why…it might even be after i added the log of what its doing…hummm
CPU speed is a 3.0ghz with 1gb of ram. Since a wrote in this morning moviemaker has closed down twice and brought up the window if I want to send in error to microsoft via internet. Moviemaker stopped working on when trying to process the 8-9am hourly movie and I didn’t catch it until 11am. I closed all the moviemakers running and it has reproduced the alldayvideo correctly since then. But like I said if I keep an eye on it I can close the extra moviemaker programs running and it will hopefully recreate the movie next hour. The moviemaker log looks good. I will look at it the next time it errors out

I just got the file and loaded it to the machine. Unfortunately since it’s night, I will have to wait until tomorrow to see how it works. Thanks for your quick help, I’ll let you know how it works tomorrow.
