I have looked as well and although there are a large number of alarms which can be set and pushover can be used to send the alarms to your phone this is one alarm which I cannot find. I’d suggest emailing Brian directly to see if he is willing to add this one.
Stuart
I did contact Brian – he said he would consider putting in an alarm. But also said to look at my USB settings if that’s how I connected to the weather station.
I did and reset them to “not suspend”. " if you have a usb data logger then make sure the USB power settings is not set to selective suspend"
Linda
Linda I have an Ecowitt GW1100 and do not have that issue as mine is wifi, but I do have an issue where sometimes the GW1100 loses wifi which is why I went looking for that alarm.
Stuart
I’m hoping he will add the alarm. Just thought I would share what he told me about the USB links.
Linda
Hi Stuart.
I have ecowitt gw1100 and have an alarm setup via ecowitt.net that if the device is offline for more than 10 mins it sends an email alert.
lklawrie also if you use the flatline script it will send an alert if offline for a certain time as well…
Thanks
Steve
Yes I run flatline but 10 minutes is too long which is why I don’t use the Ecowitt alarms. I already use pushover in WD for other alarms and feel this is one which would be useful and give me much faster notification.
Stuart
Stuart
I use flatline and also ecowitt, as a backup
No idea what the flatline script is.

Bonjour Swright1957,
Je suis intéressé par ces fichiers.
Merci.
Serge
Merci swright1957.

Last version from the late author still here:

I finally installed the flatline script and with several emails to SWright – it is actually working. I am actually amazed at how often it flatlines - but then seems to recover. (20-30 minutes of flatline).
I can’t imagine why it would recover just because the script is there? It has no communication with the program or the DAVIS unit.
Linda
It doesn’t recover because the script is there. The script is just letting you know when there’s no data. Whatever is causing the data to stop is intermittent. You need to try to figure out why the data stops and starts.
Hi,
Installed this script but probably the path to my clientraw.txt is wrong.
How does this script actually work.
I have set to 5 minutes for testing.
Data in the text file remain all zeros, set to chmod 666.
Does it run by itself?
Sorry for asking but I don’t understand.
TIA
ps What is chmod for flatline-check.php?
Hi
the text file must be chmod 666.
Also where is the clientraw.txt file located? as the script will be looking in the main directory unless you have changed the path.
My clientraw.txt is up one folder in wdlive.
I am not really good in setting these paths.
I have set this.
$watchfile = ‘./wdlive/clientraw.txt’;
Textfile is chmod 666
The script, what should that be chmodded to?
Thanks for the help.
My script and txtfile is in the ws folder.
In ftp I click Up, that brings me to a page with the wdlive folder.
Clicking that folder I see the clientraw.txt.
ps If set correct what would the txt file looklike.
Hi
as you have set to that line - $watchfile = ‘./wdlive/clientraw.txt’;
try taking the dot out and see what happens: eg:- '/wdlive/clientraw.txt’;
I put my flatline check file in the folder “above” my files with the WD display files. So, my watchfile is:
$watchfile = ‘./wdisplay/clientraw.txt’;
It’s possible that rebooting started my files working because just putting them there wasn’t working.
This morning, I had a 2 hour outage – the first time it didn’t restart. No, I do not know why it flatlines/doesn’t update. I have done the things Brian has suggested.
My DAVIS Vantage is a USB link.
Linda
Got it working.
Copied files to same directory as clientraw.txt
Then specified paths like this.
$cachefile = ‘flatline-status.txt’;
$watchfile = ‘clientraw.txt’;
Thanks for replying Linda and swright1957 and Happy Newyear.
