A few website questions

Hi peeps

From what i can gather, If i create a page for my site that has any WD tags in it, it must go through WD
i.e. add the html file to the webfiles dir, then setup a custom upload, much the same way as we do with
the wx*.html files, to summarize, create page and use the page the same way as wx*.html files is this correct?

Also the forecasts for my site, is there any thing i can use as i am in the UK, i take it the NOAA will not work?
so, what do i do for the summary forecast on the wx.html (index.html) page?
Also what do i do for the 5 day forecast at wx2.html, what do you peeps use when the NOAA does not apply?

Pretty much correct if you decide you want WD export pages with WD tags in them.

The alternative, is to use PHP (or some other dynamic web language) and send just a tagfile, and clientraw files and have your pages parse the data they want to use themselves instead.

It requires some more work on your end, but in the long run, you end up with a pretty big bandwidth savings as a lot less data needs to be sent to update your page etc…

I recall seeing recently that there was some data available, but I don’t have the direct link for that. I don’t think they were using the forecast pages but rather just linking to the site that had the data.

You may be thinking of this thread discussing using the bbc rss feed for a webpage forecast.

Cheers guys, i will take a look
