I have been having WD crashes which have appeared random. There are no problems with the FTP log and nothing in the error log. The last 2 crashes have occured exactly at 22.00
I dont have anything set to happen at 22.00, is there anything that happens at 22.00 that would cause the crash?
I have thought about upgrading to a newer version, but people seem to be having just as many crashing problems with more recent versions.

check under view, about, you do not have anything ticked to do with free memory?
maybe check that?

On the about screen I had free memory set for 10pm and 6am. I have unchecked both of these and will wait and see if this works. It has now crashed at 10pm for the last 3 evenings. This may be a stupid question but why would freeing the memory cause WD to crash?

what windows version do you have?
the other thing done by wd at 11pm is the daily web cam images
check if you have by mistake set that ON (see under view, web cam images from during the day)
Hi Brian,
I am running Windows XP. WD crashed at around 3.30 this morning, once again there was program error. As I am still waiting for broadband there was no FTP happening. I do have the daily webcam image update checked, but this has been running happily for the last few months.
There are definately 3 crashes that have occured at 10.00 but the last one was random. I am going to try updating to 10.20r to see if that is more stable

Just curious, is your WD still crashing at 10:00 pm or did you resolve it?
I was on 10.19 and jsut upgraded to 10.21 yet the app still crashes consistently at 10:00 pm. I have no routines going at 10:00, not sure why this is happening.
When I restart WD it’s fine again for until 10:00 the next night…
