1-Wire with USB?

I just received from maxim a USB 1-Wire adapter. I’m not a fan of the Serial port and was hoping this USB adapter would work with my system. Does WD support 1-wire through the USB adapter?

I got one “Free” as a demo from Maxim’s site.
It was Part Number: DS9490R

Thanks!

yes
in the com port setup, tick usb , then you will need to set the com port number to use
(mine is 1, i.e that is what was assigned to that usb 1 wire port by the i button viewer)
then restart wd

Okay, well, I got some of the data… it’s still very confusing trying to setup the 1-wire stuff as WD doesn’t really make it clear what is what. For example WD says I have a 5th Humidity button… I only have 1 in reality…

Anyhow, my problem/question is this…

When WD first starts it fails to recognize any of the 1-wire stuff… If I manually go into the “Com Port” setup and deselect the ‘USB’ and then reselect the ‘USB’ port then WD detects the sensors.

Is there any way to prevent WD from searching for sensors of types I know I don’t have? The log is always filled with messages about “There is no wind speed Device on the port” and “There is no Humidity Device on the port” and “There is no Temperature Device on the Port”…

I have an AAG Temp/Humidity 1-wire sensor and a 1-wire Solar Sensor… but WD shows them as
Humidity i-button found,
5th Humidity i-button found
Humidity i-button found
2nd Humidity i-button found

How do I determine which of these is what?

is this all used in conjuction with a normal weather station>?
then in the , use dallas 1 wire as well, you set the port number there to be the usb port number to use
and tick, i do not have a 1 wire temperature sensor in use, if you do not have one…etc
so, the answer is yes, you can stop wd from searching for those sensors you dont have via those settings
