As you can see from all my previous posts I have been working extensively with the XML file.
Hey there fellow XMLer. I have been doing some work on the XML file as well, and I cam across rather similar problems as what you have pointed out. I have a version of XML here that I have done, but so far I havn’t been able to find time to finish it. But if he clicks on the little ‘email envelope’ shown in your profile (to the left of the message) the forum will allow him to send you an email without him ever knowing what your address is.
Before anything changes though please be aware that some of us (me anyway!) are using the tags as they are (including stripping out data if necessary) and any modifications to existing ones may break things.
This has already happened a couple of times and it gets very annoying. I would suggest any changes are to provide additional tags rather than modifying existing ones.

I did suggest at one time that it might be a good idea to have as an option within WD to still use the old style XML file which is more than likly in use in so many places, including mine. And it will take time to convert things over.
As for the email bots, I knew about that, I just thought it would be quicker if he sent it the other way, that way i will get it in my email instead of having to check this site all the time.
The envelope icon sends an email direct to you. It’s not the same as the IM icon which sends you a personal message on the forum.
you could use the special file convert in the custom web page setup, then set the local name as, say
myxml.html (that file has to exist)
and the remote name as
mynewxml.xml
i.e you can then have your very own raw xml template, and use what ever WD custom tags you like and need in that file
